Trello does not offer a direct way to delete lists. You have to archive the list from the Board and then permanently delete the lists from archived items.

You can recover your lists and the cards it contains from the archived items on the board menu. However, note that once you permanently delete a list, there is no way to recover it; the list and all of its cards will be gone.

Archive the list

  • Navigate to the list you want to delete from your Board and click on the three dots referred to as “List actions.”
  • Scroll down to select “Archive this list.

How do you undo an archive list in Trello?

  • Click on the board menu that looks like this (…) at the top right corner.
  • Select Archived items.
  • Click on “Switch to list” and then navigate to “Send to board.”

This will unarchive the archived list in Trello.

This will send your list back to your Board if you ever need them. Besides the “Send to board” There is a delete option.

How to delete a Trello list

As you can see, you cannot delete a list in Trello unless you’ve archived it first. Once you select permanently delete, Trello will delete lists and cards associated with the list. There is no way to undo it.

  • Select the list action menu of the list you want to delete (it’s beside the list title).

How do I Delete the old checklist in Trello?

To delete an old checklist in Trello, follow these steps:

  • Open the Card: Navigate to the Board and open the card that contains the checklist you want to delete.
  • Locate the Checklist: Scroll down to the checklist section on the card.
  • Open the Checklist: If it’s collapsed, click on the checklist to expand it and view all the items.
  • Delete the Checklist: At the bottom of the checklist, you’ll see a “More” button (three dots).
  • Click the “More” button, and select “Delete.”

  • Delete Board (if needed):After closing the Board, you’ll now see the option to “Permanently Delete” the Board.
  • Click “Permanently Delete”, and then confirm the deletion.

Note: Deleting a board is permanent and cannot be undone, so make sure you really want to delete the Board before proceeding.
